Choose your spot..any spot!

Ever see one of my photos and wonder..."Where was that taken?!" Or is it time for senior photos, family photos, first birthday pictures etc. and you need to figure out a location? Location choices are hard! I try to match up personality, wardrobe etc. to the perfect place, but sometimes you just want to see examples first to make sure it will be a good fit. This is what this blog is for!

Here are a few places that are my favorites to shoot:

1. Seton Hill University-Seton Hill's campus has quite a few nooks and crannies. A wide open field to amazing architecture.

2. Downtown Greensburg- This is one of my absolute FAVORITE locations! There's so many side streets, alley ways and architecture! It's a great option for any type of photos! There are a few favorite spots I've found through the years.

3. "The Flower Garden"- This location is perfect for a mini session!

4. Twin Lakes- This location EVERYONE knows and requests..I am happy to accommodate if your heart is truly set on it :)

5. "The Mansion"- This is a brand new location for me! I have only had 2 sessions there so far and since posting those I have had numerous requests for it. It just oozes charm! It is absolutely perfect for families, seniors & engagement. Even wedding photos would be phenomenal there!

6. Bushy Run- Bushy Run has 2 areas to shoot. The main park (which has strange hours) and across the street at the little old cabin. Here's a couple of both areas.

7. "The Bike Trail"- There's part of the bike trail that houses these amazing couple of locations. I am always a big fan of the unusual and graffiti! This has both! There's also a few old box cars as well. It is beyond amazing for senior photos.

8. "The Derby Location"- Keep in mind this is the nicknames I have for these places. I photographed for the first time a Roller Derby team, so that's the name of the location....pretty simple. It's actually a collection of a few really old run down buildings, a loading dock and some old pieces of semi tractor trailer parts. Makes for a great backdrop!

9. Keystone- This park is beyond words in the fall when the leaves turn. There are a few different spots that are great for shooting.

10. Legion keener- This is a bit of a hike to get to....not recommended for small kids, but beyond worth the hike for seniors! I have found this little nook out of the way (well, I didn't really find it per say...others use it as well..lol), and it has great lines, graffiti and lighting.

11. "The Factory"- It is a bit out of the way..a bit run down...a bit overgrown and falling in...that makes it perfect for shooting! It would be great for a senior session or anything involving tweens/teens. I've only shot there once so far and I cannot wait to get back there!

12. "The Museum"- This is a great place for architectural lines, and a more modern twist to your photos. It is great for a mini session or a part of your full session. It is in close proximity to downtown Greensburg so we can always start or end your session there.

(Keep in mind some of these locations can only be utilized in the evening after business hours or certain times of the day depending on lighting etc.)

These are just a few of my favorites! I have also shot at Schramm's, Hempfield Park, Linn Run State Park and Mammoth Park. I get quite a few requests of other local places that are quite beautiful but unfortunately require a permit to shoot there. Did I forget to list one here? Let me know! If you have private property that you'd like to use..I am all for that too! I love finding new gems! I love making shoots unique and something no one else has seen before. Got a friend with horses, lets go there! Got a cousin with a cabin locally...let's go! Know of a neighbor with a field full of wildflowers and a great old barn...I'm there! Use your imagination. Let's work together to make something great!

Much love, Joyce
