How I do..that thing I do! Workin' it!!!! (Behind the Scenes)

I have been wanting to do a blog or collection of my "Behind the Scenes" shots for so long now! So glad to finally be getting around to it. I always have moms or wedding guests sending me their shots of me working doing my thing and some of them are hysterical! Most of the shots are taken quickly with cell phones so please excuse the quality.

This photo was one of the very first behind the scenes anyone ever sent to me and it was one of the very first weddings that I ever shot! (Thanks Angela!)

As you can see most of the time if I ask you to roll all over the ground.I am right there with you! I love placing the action shot of me and the finished product. You will see quite a few of those throughout this post.

Quite frequently I get together with other photographers in my local area and do what we call a "Shoot Out". A dear friend of mine snapped this one while we were at our very first one ever! The first photo on this blog was also taken at my second shoot out ever! (strange how I remember that after all these years huh?). It's always a great time getting together with others that have your same interests and talents to collaborate or just hang out together. It's been very informative and educational. I have also made some amazing friends through learning to work with others in my field instead of trying to pull them down to make myself do more business. More often than not you get some great action shots of you too! We, in the business, know how important those are for future uses...Like Blogging! (Duh!)

It's funny how I always look so bossy in these too! But I swear I'm just trying to get the best photos for you possible so telling you where to put your hand or to move to the right just a smidge is all I'm doing! (LOL)

Another fun photographer "Shoot Out" that we practiced head shots for each other. This was one of my favorites that I took of Miss Royleen from over at "A Moment in Time Photography".

I usually get the most photos sent of a session back from senior shoots. Not exacty sure why, but I think mom's are getting really emotional and can't wait to see the finished product so they start snapping away. I am always fine with someone in the background taking some phone photos. Especially when they send them my way! Above are two before and afters that were so fun! This girl was truly up for anything! Her only request was the football field since she was the captain of the cheerleading squad for Greensburg Salem. All of my other crazy ideas like the burned out old lumber company (in the cute pink outfit..her of course..not me! My outfits are never cute!), were not even questioned by them. They just came along for the ride!

As you can see I dress super comfy and casual for pretty much anything that's not a wedding! I am usually knee deep in the weeds or the woods and crawling around on the ground. I cannot do that in a cute outfit! I am sure lots of other talented photographers can, but I am a "build for comfort, dress for comfort" type of girl!

My 2016 seniors produced quite a few football players from a handful of schools. Catching those glory moments before they head off to play for college teams like this guy! He is on his way to Westminster College in a few months to continue his football career. I am so happy to be a small part of capturing where he came from as his journey continues.

And please excuse the fact that I seem to wear the same outfit in just about every photo that is sent to me. I swear I wear more than two things and I wash them in between!

I truly love capturing seniors! I love finding new locations to shoot!

Peek a boo..I see you! I looked at this twice before I saw that I was peeking out from behind the camera at the lovely lady who was taking this! So funny!

My second shooter for weddings Robin caught this one for me at one of our first weddings that we worked together. We have become quite a team since those first few occassions. This was also one of my profile photos on Facebook for quite some time..I just loved it!

Speaking of FUN......I couldn't pass up the opportunity with this extended family shoot to "be part of the family" for just a few minutes. Photo bomb by the photographer! Why not? They are super sweet and they seem to like me as well. Maybe they will invite me to Thanksgiving this year..(hint hint)..Just kidding..maybe. ;)

Having fun is definitely part of my motto. This wedding was one for my record books! They wouldn't take no for an answer when it came to including myself and Robin in their party fun. The groom wanted a crash course on my camera and took about a dozen photos of me trying to get it back off of him! Needless to say..those didn't end up in the final cut of what was delivered to the bride and groom.

The final photo from this wedding and this blog is more FUN! When some of the guests are old co workers that want to remember some line dances we all knew..I had to jump in and play along. And then when the groom insists that you dance...well...you dance!

From weddings to seniors to family shoots...you have to laugh. You have to have fun. You have to be light hearted and make jokes. Why not? Life if too short to be too serious.

~Hugs~
